Finished fiberglassing and filling the elevator tipsFinished fiberglassing and filling the elevator tips
I've been waiting 5 days now for the F-605C reinforcement bars to arrive from Van's. The UPS website says that they should arrive tomorrow. Meanwhile I've been working again on the fiberglass tips on the elevators and finished them up today. I was really pleased with the way they turned out. When I get to the horizontal stabilizer fiberglass tips I plan to document it with some pics so you can see how I did it. I think working on the elavator tips has gotten me over the learning curve.
Amazing stuff!!Amazing stuff!!
I went to a body shop and found out about this light weight, quick drying polyester filling putty. This little jug was 50 bucks but is incredible to work with. All I did was pore out of the putty into a round circle and then put a bead of the hardener in the middle of the putty. After mixing the two together, I had maybe 2-3 minutes to apply it before it started to harden to the point where I couldn't work it any more. Twenty minutes later it's sandable. That's incredible!! I made sure to wear my face mask though, the warning label says that the fumes cause brain damage. Butt iT didN't seEM tO AffEcT mE aT aLL...
