All the wires are hooked to the switches and breakersAll the wires are hooked to the switches and breakers
Today I finished up hooking the wires to the flap switch and clecoed the panel back into position. Nerve racking but fun!
Hooked up the fuel pumpHooked up the fuel pump
I really had trouble reaching these wires from overhead to do the hookup. So I finally had to get in the pilots seat and lay down sideways to get my head and hands under the panel assembly to connect the wires. The black wire was grounded to the bolt holding the pump to the firewall. The red wire was hooked to the white wire in the wiring harness. Then I cable-tied them together.
Time for the big wires Time for the big wires
This hookup is for a #8 wire. My standard crimpers (shown in the photo) won't work for this dude. So I'm off to the forum on VansAirForce.net for advice on what to use to attach this hookup to a #8 wire.
UPDATE 10/28/2010: I did some Googleing and found a crimping set that would crimp a #8 wire. This set should fit in my ratchet crimp tool frame in the picture to the left. $36 bucks for 2 wire crimps. Oh well, that's airplane stuff for ya'.
