Started on the Firewall Forward Kit Started on the Firewall Forward Kit
Looks like I need to order my engine. The instructions in the firewall forward kit only go so far, then it's engine time. So I'm going to do as much as I can, to the point of needing the engine. Here I've install a nutplate for the clamp that holds the breather tube. I'm hanging the clamp now so I won't have to go looking for it later.

Tomorrow I will install the fireward inset. Oh boy! Proseal....
Time for the battery trayTime for the battery tray
The instructions suggest drilling these lightening holes. I bought a 2 inch drill bit from "Second" Home Depot. I noticed that two 2x4's fit perfectly inside the tray to support the drilling. The tray would flex under the pressure of the downward force of the drill press otherwise.
Time for sanding the edgesTime for sanding the edges
I have a whole bag of these course sponge sanding blocks. I stuck them in the holes and just twirled them around in a circle to get a nice rounded edge.

I rounded off the edges with my scotchbrite wheel. I used my unibit to make the 3/4 inch holes. I drilled one side down to the 3/4 mark and then flipped the strap over to finish the hole on the other side.
